On Sunday 26th August 2018, four W&H girls took part in the Midlands South Girls Championships at Temple Golf Club in Berkshire.
Unfortunately, the day was the wettest day of the summer and the players were subjected to relentless heavy rain and high winds. The course became waterlogged with severe ponding on all greens and was declared unplayable, cutting the competition short. So the 36 hole became an 18 hole event, and the 18 hole became a 9 hole event.
Despite the difficult conditions, Maisie Whittall won the 9 hole event with a magnificent 21 points and was proud to lift the trophy for W&H.
Rosanna Halls, Lauren Sharp, and Kirsten Porte were all placed in the top half of the 18 hole event in 6th, 7th and 11th places respectively. Well played girls in those very challenging conditions and congratulations to Maisie! Hoping your kit is all dried out now!

Maisie Whittall winner of the 18 hole competition (reduced to 9 holes on account of the dreadful weather) being presented with her trophy by Elspeth Cooper, President of Berkshire.
